Welcome to the 2011-2012 edition of The Cadets of Cordova! It’s band camp time again. Here is a list of information of things to be expected for band camp. In this memo you will see a detailed schedule of camp as well as other items that you should expect to bring.
July 6-8 (ROOKIE CAMP and COLOR GUARD CAMP) This is for ALL NEW MEMBERS to The Cadets of Cordova grades 9-12. Color guard will need to be present as well. We will teach marching fundamentals and give an overview of what is to be expected in the CHS Band.
Times are 9:00AM to 1:00PM each day.
July 6-8 (PERCUSSION AND COLOR GUARD CAMP) This is for ALL MEMBERS of the Percussion and Color Guard. We will be going over fundamentals as well as parts of the 2011 production, SPEED!
Times are 2:00PM to 5:00PM each day.
July 11-22 (FULL BAND, PERCUSSION, AND GUARD CAMP) This is the 2 week portion of band camp for The Cadets of Cordova. ALL MEMBERS are required to attend. We will be reinforcing fundamentals of both playing and marching, as well as working on the 2011 production, SPEED!
Times are 8:00AM to 8:00PM Monday through Friday. Off Saturday and Sunday.
Here is a basic schedule of how these two weeks will progress:
8:00AM Fundamentals and Show Rehearsal (outside) 12:00 NOON Lunch on your own 1:30PM Sectionals (inside) 3:00PM Full Band (inside or outside) 4:30PM Dinner will be provided. STAY ON CAMPUS 6:00PM Evening Rehearsal (outside) 8:00PM Dismissal
*All members should report and be ready to provide payment for band fees. This is an essential part for participation. If you have questions about this or need to make payment arrangements you must email Mr. Hackley at jashac82@hotmail.com prior to camp. Dues are $400 a person. If you have not purchased band shoes or bib pants, please add an additional $75 to your band dues. If you are a new member you are also responsible for a one- time payment of $100 for a uniform rental fee. You will be asked to pay these upon check-in. In addition, if you are using a school instrument you must provide payment of $35 for instrument rental before you will be issued an instrument. This is mandatory for Tuba, Baritone, and Mellophone (French horn). If you are in guard, there will be additional costs, likely an additional $250 per person to purchased your uniform.
